Taos Restaurant

As a small arts organisation, we are grateful for all the support provided by individuals and businesses.

Taos Restaurant in Bulleen has long been a supporter of the Ikenobo Ikebana Melbourne Chapter. Taos have provided assistance in conducting exhibitions and demonstrations, and in the day to day running of the chapter.

We also run classes on Friday afternoons at Taos. Please contact the restaurant for further details.

Sydney demonstration

Last week Yukako presented a demonstration on the History of Ikenobo Ikebana to the Ikebana International Sydney Chapter. The demonstration included Rikka, Shoka and Freestyle arrangements.

The demonstration was well received and Faye Brock, President of the Sydney Chapter, has passed the Sydney Chapter's thanks and appreciation.

Also a big thanks to Joanne Huang, Ausilia Chung and Arthur Harrison for travelling to Sydney and assisting with the demonstration.

Japan Festival

Students of the Chapter presented arrangements at the Japan Festival.

The Festival is held in the Box Hill town hall every year. It is a celebration of Japanese culture, and features performances of drumming, dancing and karate, and demonstrations of tea ceremony and Go.

Melbourne Flower and Garden Show 2009

Yukako arranged a beautiful window display for the 2009 Flower and Garden Show. It featured a Rikka Shimputai arrangement comprised of two vases.

The display was awarded 4th place by Tesselar.
